| April, 2013: When a late spring storm drops a foot overnight in the Wasatch with 8" more expected during the day, it is the responsibility of a true ski bum to find his way on to the mountain before it opens to ski the fresh powder. With the help of Little Cloud lifty and roommate Taylor (far right) Rick gets special "Seven Summits clearance" onto the very first 730am "Room for Ballroom Dancing" Tram accompanied by just a handful of lift operators and ski patrol. After helping the crew "put the nets up" on Little Cloud, Rick is rewarded with a waffle and sent out into the raging Storm. |

| March 14, 2013 - The Alta Chutes, though rarely open, are a dream for any ski bum. This is at the top of main chute after my second hike of the day. On the first hike I actually sidestepped over the ridge after I got to the bottom of Chute and hit Keyhole in what I call "the best of both Baldys". On the second hike I opted for "around the world" to get back to the Bird. I may be smiling but my legs are BURNING - LOL! |
